New Approaches
to Conflict Resolution

Ian was originally from London where he qualified as a Chartered Accountant.  He moved to Bristol in 1965 when he got married. He worked in a department store for 16 years but when it closed he changed course and with his wife, Pauline, opened a residential home for the elderly. They ran this for 18 years during which time,, through voluntary work at Leyhill open prison they developed an interest  in the resettlement of offenders . They are now retired from the residential home but continue to have an interest in accommodation for ex offenders.

Ian also has a long association with, and is currently Treasurer of a local charity assisting those with Cerebral Palsy, their families and careers. He is also a trustee and current Chairman of a Friendly Society involved assisting the elderly and infirm to remain in their own homes. They have a repair service and arrange necessary adaptations working in close cooperation with the local authority and health services.

He was introduced to Bristol Mediation about two years ago and is particularly interested in the developing work in prisons.
